Crystal beads add sparkle to any piece of jewelry or embroidery. Many of today’s most popular patterns include using these sparkling beads, but they can be costly. Luckily there are some very convincing alternatives that still add sparkle.

If you have a little extra money to splurge, buy genuine crystal beads. These beads are a little pricey but nothing compares to their brilliant sparkle. Most bead stores will have these beauties displayed in a case.

Those that can’t afford genuine crystal beads will be happy to know that some glass beads can cut to look deceptively like crystal, most will not know the difference. These are used often in wholesale jewlery and fashion jewelry. An even cheaper option is acrylic beads cut to look like crystals- these beads don’t have near the sparkle however.
